Picnic 2009
This is a gallery of our 2009 annual picnic.
Zeus
Zeus was an owner turn in to the Philadelphia shelter at 8 years old. He was my first foster dog and I became a foster failure. Zeus had some dog aggression issues and people weren’t his favorite either. With a lot of work, Zeus overcame his issues. He lived life to the fullest with his sisters Logan and Baretta.
Zeus passed at the age of 14 knowing he was loved by many.

Maggie
Maggie came to us shortly after my wife and I had married. We had just adopted a greyhound a few months prior and I wanted nothing to do with another dog. I was not an animal person, but we all know how that works! Karen was tipped off by Sharon about a 10 month old Dobie @ the SPCA. We adopted her and were the third owner in her short life.
She was terribly thin and had a very hard time adjusting to life in our house. Karen would drag her crate out every morning before I woke up to hose out the mess she would make during the night. I can honestly say that I hated her. I really mean I hated her. A few obedience classes started to make things better. Long story short she eventually became the love of my life. She is the reason I love animals. Maggie showed me that an animal can give you unconditional love. I really believe she loved us. I volunteer with DVDPA as a tribute to her. We have met so many wonderful people and made so many friends all because of Maggie. 1-01-98 to 01-03-09
